Sunset

I stand alone looking across the plain

As the light fades, becoming faint

The mountain behind me in the twilight

Casts a shadow reflecting its might

I pour the sherry from the glass in my hand

Making a pool of scarlet on the sand

The plain is stained a brilliant red

By the sun settling into its bed

The glass slips as I turn to face the mountain

Shattering into pieces; one million times ten

The black face blends into the sky

Deep purple in the last light
