about.
disorder is a spatial text. it is an attempt to create a new interface through which
to experience fiction. a man has died in his sleep and the way to discover the facts
of his death and life is to explore his bedroom through an image map. clicking on the
image map will reveal text pertinent to that area of or object in the room. each
object or area has at least three texts associated with it; some have many more. some
even share texts or pieces of them.
method.
though there are many ways to read disorder, some seem more enjoyable than others.
this text is better read as an investigation than as one traditionally reads a short
story. an exhaustive reading of the text would likely be a frustrating and unrewarding
experience, because there is nothing in place to prevent the reader from encountering the
same textons repeatedly. a more relaxed approach, allowing the text itself to shape
your reading goals would yield, i think, a more pleasing experience. be curious and
accept that there is no "end".
